Chirality from Torsion and Immersion in Geometric Unity
In Geometric Unity (GU), chirality is not fundamental on the ambient space $Y$. It emerges on the observed $4$-manifold $X$ from three intertwined ingredients: (i) an immersion (observation map) $\iota: X \hookrightarrow Y$ and pullback of fields, (ii) a gauge-equivariant torsion that generates a $\gamma_5$ coupling, and (iii) the signature/orientation data that fixes which chirality survives upon pullback.

Nostr as Game
All systems can be approached like a game by "probing" for affordances. This can be a lot of fun, and works well in an adversarial environment.

Why GrapeRank Uses Mutes and Reports to Pick Off Bots, Impersonators and Bad Actors
Bad actors can easily fool personalized PageRank using the link farm attack. Well-placed NIP-56 reports can pick off bad actors like a sniper rifle, effectively cleaving away an entire link farm with only a small handful of well placed reports.

Standardization of Trust Metric Delivery Protocols
Personalized, portable trust metrics on Nostr require standardized protocols to communicate trust metrics from Web of Trust Service Providers to Nostr clients. Open, shared protocols will empower users, prevent vendor lock-in and accelerate adoption, just as they did for email and Lightning.

From $5 Lift Tickets to $300 Days: The Story Behind Rising Ski Costs [2024]
Everyone’s eager to blame Vail, crowds, or fancy gondolas for $300 day passes, but that’s just noise. The real issue is the monetary system itself, which distorts prices and drains purchasing power while pretending everything’s fine. Skiing didn’t get pricier—fiat just keeps lying to you.

Yes, we actually managed to get this working. It was a crazy idea, but we #GitCitadel residents-and-frens are crazy enough to get it working.

🛠️ AI Isn’t Magic. It’s Engineering.
Most people treat AI like magic. I treat it like engineering. This post breaks down how I use ChatGPT in an iterative, system-oriented way — just like writing and testing code. It’s not about hype or hacks. It’s about building with intention, clarity, and conviction.

You Shall Not Do As They Do
It can be tempting to lump the ceremonial sacrifices of Israel into the same category as that of the pagan peoples of the ancient Near East that neighbored them. In this paper, I show that the sacrifices performed by Israel were very different from their ancient pagan counterparts.

Clients, Words, and Concepts
The words we use can cause a lot of confusion if the concepts behind them are not clearly understood. Particularly when we use the same words to refer to different concepts. This is certainly the case in the recent arguments about whether Primal is a Nostr client or not.

Financial Sovereignty in a Fractured World: Why Bitcoin Maximalism Matters
In a world buffeted by rising debt, inflation-stress, weakening institutions, and geopolitical risk, the question of who controls money is no longer abstract: it is existential. Financial sovereignty - the ability to hold and deploy wealth free from manipulation, confiscation, or devaluation - is emerging as a foundational civil right. At the heart of that shift stands Bitcoin.

The Value-for-Value Paradox: Why We’re All Hypocrites About Zaps
We treat zaps differently than every other purchase, hoarding sats for “future value” while freely spending on coffee and Netflix. If content is worth $1 to you right now, zap the equivalent in today’s sats and stop doing mental gymnastics about what they might be worth later. Value-for-value means paying for value in the present, not extracting free content while pretending you’re being strategic.

The Return to Quality: How Nostr Developers Are Rebuilding American Craftsmanship
We traded craftsmanship for quarterly earnings and built a disposable economy where everything barely works. Big Tech promised innovation and delivered surveillance. The gig economy killed pride in work. Now Nostr developers are proving you can build quality software without VC millions, platform games, or selling your users. Your code is your reputation. Forever. On-chain. This is how we rebuild.
